New duties, the same teams
Wales’s public procurement landscape is changing. The final provisions of the Social Partnership and Public Procurement (Wales) Act 2023 came into force this spring, and Wales elected a new government in May.
For buyers, that means new statutory duties to put into practice – evaluation criteria, social public works and workforce clauses, and new reporting requirements – often without extra capacity.
This free webinar, broadcast ahead of Procurex Wales 2026, gives buyers a practical briefing on what good implementation looks like, and where Cyd, the Welsh Government-sponsored Procurement Centre of Excellence, and Delta eSourcing’s platform can share the load.
Heads of procurement, category and contract managers, and commissioning officers across Welsh local government, health, housing, education and blue light services – particularly smaller or capacity-constrained teams.
Suppliers and bid professionals are welcome too, for a clear view of how buyers are interpreting the new duties.
What you’ll take away
How to embed the socially responsible procurement duty into specifications and evaluation, not only at tender stage
How to apply social public works and workforce clauses consistently, without overburdening SMEs
A clear walkthrough of the contracts register and annual reporting duty
How Cyd’s shared resources and collaborative buying routes can relieve pressure on stretched teams
A practical view on building capability across your team
A walkthrough of Delta eSourcing, Official eSourcing Partner of Procurex Wales 2026
